Description
This is an astonishing and gorgeous 1989 Gibson RB3 Wreath 5 string Banjo. This has a new neck with Keith Tuners on 1 and 4 and Schaller D Tuners on 2 and 3. We don’t know who made the neck but it is absolutely a professional quality neck. This also has new hooks and nuts on the pot. This banjo screams with a great deal of pop and will “peel the paint off the walls”.
This has a 3 ply maple shell with a mahogany neck and resonator. The fretboard is rosewood with features a Wreath Inlay Pattern in abalone.
All of the hardware is nickel and all original including a Gibson USA one piece flange and an AFP Gibson Kulesh Tone Ring. This banjo is a cannon and people that know about the 1989 RB3 banjos with the AFP Kulesh Ring already know this.
This also includes a clean hardshell case.
Condition
This banjo is in absolutely fantastic condition. We disassembled the metal and polished it to a shine. The finish on the neck and resonator has been waxed to a shine as well. The frets and fretboard are in fantastic, even perfect shape. This makes sense considering the neck is new. There are spikes in frets 7,9 and 10.
The only blemish is a very slight ripple in the flange on the mid-top left hand side. I do have a picture. This is minor but must be noted.
The case is very clean inside and out
This has a new frosted Remo head and a new Huber bridge and strings. The banjo is not only super clean it is set up to maximize tone and playability,
This is a killer player and sounds incredible and has all the right parts to give the banjo player the true Gibson Banjo Experience.
