Description
This is a Gorgeous example of an original Stelling Red Fox Banjo. This is all original except two of the tuners have different buttons then the other two tuners. I think 2 of the buttons may not be original but this is all there otherwise and gorgeous. This is clean, set up and includes an original Stelling Hardshell Case.
This has a Curly Maple Resonator and Neck. The fretboard is Ebony with a Red Fox inlay pattern. All of the hardware is nickel and all original and includes a Stelling One Piece Ribbon Flange and a Stelling No Hole Tone Ring. This banjo is exceptional and delivers the entire Stelling experience from presentation to tone and playability.
Stelling Banjos have become HARD TO FIND. This is ready and waiting for someone to love.
Condition and Set Up
The banjo is in fantastic shape and has been professionally cleaned at the Banjo Warehouse. We have disassembled the banjo and polished all of the metal and that looks fantastic. The finish is in great shape but there is some scratching on the back of the neck behind the 5th fret. This is pictured. This banjo looks fantastic but has some minor wear on the back of the neck.
The frets and fretboard are basically perfect and there is no spikes, no 5th string capo and there never was either. This banjo couldn’t have been played much because if it was it would need spikes or have fretwear.
We put a new Remo frosted head on the banjo along with a new Sosebee Bridge and Huber strings. This is set up and ready to go.
