Description
This is a gorgeous Gibson RB18 Top Tension 5 string Banjo. This is definitely super clean and clearly has been lightly used and plays and sounds incredible.
This has a curly maple neck and resonator with a rosewood fretboard with abalone inlay. The hardware is gold and includes an engraved tone ring and engraved tension hoop. This has a 20 hole tone ring and a one piece flange along with an engraved top tension style armrest. The tailpiece is a Kershner tailpiece which is engraved Granada. The person I bought this from claims this left the factory with this tailpiece which is possible. We have ordered a standard RB18 style tailpiece which is on the way and we will give to the buyer if they prefer.
This banjo is LOUD and has got loads of impressive tone. Top Tension Banjos are well known for their volume and this banjo truly delivers. This is a stunning work of art that looks, plays and sounds incredible and includes an original The Gibson hardshell case.
Condition
This banjo is in fantastic condition. All of the gold is incredibly clean, including the armrest. In fact the gold is really glowing. The finish looks fantastic also. This banjo is truly remarkable. The frets and fretboard are incredible all the way down the board. This banjo clearly was not played. The original case is clean as well.
If you are looking for a top grade, super clean original Gibson RB18 this is absolutely that banjo. This is set up and has a lot of presence and projection. These come up rarely and even less frequently in this condition.
