Description
The Gibson JD Crowe RB75 Blackjack is one of the most powerful Banjos that Gibson made. The reason why is not only does the hardware have gold plating it is copper flashed which really adds some serious pop and bang. This banjo will peel all of the paint off the walls.
This has a 3 ply maple shell with a mahogany neck and resonator. The fretboard is rosewood with a custom Blackjack inlay pattern.
The banjo has all original Gibson hardware including a Gibson USA Flange and original Gibson 20 Hole Tone Ring. All of the hardware has been Gold Plated and Flashed with Copper. I am serious when I say this causes a lot of power, pop and bang. This also includes an original Gibson Hardshell Case.
Condition
This banjo is in absolutely fantastic shape. There is a bit of wear in the copper flashing but not much. These are very often completely worn down because this flashing is a bit more sensitive to other types of plating. This still maintains most of the original copper and looks great.
The finish on the wood is in even better shape and really shines. The frets and fretboard are also in fantastic condition and this has spikes in frets 7 and 9. The original case is clean inside and out.
Set Up
This is set up with a Remo frosted head which is set to 90. The bridge is a Snuffy Smith and the strings are Huber and this also is a super player. This banjo has a lot of pop and is set up to be a thrill to play. This is a really good example of a serious powerhouse Blackjack Banjo and is set up and ready to go!!
